a powerfully romantic Regency-era tale that is breathtaking in scope
and wondrously passionate.
When Sebastian Townshend, son of the eighth Earl of Edgewood, was banished from his family due to the tragic results of a duel, he vowed never to return to England. Now living on the continent, Sebastian has forged a new identity as a deadly mercenary, The Raven. But his former neighbor, Lady Margaret Landor, has different plans for him. Back in England, Sebastian's father has had several accidents and Margaret suspects foul play and deception that reach as far back as the infamous duel. Convinced that only Sebastian can set the situation to rights, Margaret arranges a scandalous bargain with him that includes Sebastian's returning home as her husband. As the newlyweds uncover a deadly scheme, a fierce passion blossoms between them, which neither anticipated -- and neither can resist.

Editorial Reviews:
Michael Arroyo has a dream of pitching in the Little League World Series, and a pitching arm that throws serious heat. But that firepower is nothing compared to the heat Michael faces in his day-to-day life. Newly orphaned after his father led the family's escape from Cuba, Michael has no one to watch out for him except his older brother Carlos, who is only 17, and if Social Services hears of the boys situation, they will be separated in the foster care system-or even worse, sent back to Cuba. So the boys their best to carry on alone, dodging bills and anyone who asks to many questions. Until, that is, someone questions how a 12-year-old boy could possibly throw with as much power as Michael Arroyo throws and Michael has no way to prove his age, no birth certificate, and no parent to fight for his cause. Suddenly Michael's secret world is blown wide open-and he discovers that family can come from the most unexpected sources. A baseball and coming-of-age story worth cheering for, culminating in a dream come true for any boy: Michaelm poor orphan of the Bronx, NY, steps onto the most hallowed of spaces-the Yankee stadium pitching mound.

The book Heat is about a 12-year-old boy named Michael Arroyo. Michael is a great baseball player with an amazing right arm. He is very tall and skinny. Michael was born in Cuba where his dad who he and his older brother Carlos called Big Papi found a way to get them to the U.S.A. Michael lives in the Bronx of New York and is on the South Bronx All Star Team. He is the best pitcher for his age anyone has seen, being able to through in the high 70's.
This story takes place in the Bronx of New York. Most the story takes place at Macombs Dam Park. Here at Macomb's, there are two fields which are the Babe Ruth league fields and the little league fields which Michael played on. Over to the side you can see the basketball courts to the. You could here the roar of the train tracks overhead, and practically feel the breeze. Michael and his friends would go to their fields to play pickup games sometimes if they had enough players.
· Mrs. Cora, a neighbor in their apartment, was walking down the street with her very expensive looking purse. She was looking and wondering why most all the sport stores on River Avenue had the name Stan in them. She had just put $100 in her purse when suddenly a thief named Ramon ran
Customer Rating: Summary: Mrs.Hoffman 5th Grade Book Review{Collin McNeill} Comment: This book is about more that baseball. Customer Rating: Summary: MUST READ Comment: I love this book because it explains so much about where things are and it is about a boy from cuba and a fat cop is trying to catch a robber named raymond and he lives really close to yankee stadium now and he was in the ball park and he was behind home plate when he saw raymond running in centerfield then Micheal picked up a baseball and fired it at raymond's head and caught him then the cop said "You got some arm kid" them Micheal is the boys name he said " Thanks the only person who told me that is my dad" Then he tries to make it to the liitle league world series and Micheal's dad is a coach in little league and his dads team won the world series.
Customer Rating: Summary: An Awesome Baseball Book! Comment: Heat is one of the most enjoyable, interesting books I've ever read. Michael, a typical boy with a great right arm is the main character. He lives with his brother Carlos. His dad is supposedly caring for a sick relitive in Florida. Michael faces hardships and problems, but keeps himself going with friends and Carlos.
Baseball helps Michael with his life problems as well. It makes him feel ike all of his problems can disappear. But things in Michael's life aren't always so picture-perfect.
One boy in Michaels baseball league thinks Michael is too old for little league baseball. He is jealous of Michael because is right arm is so powerful. He and his father(the coach of his son's little league team) demand a birth certificate for Michael's ability to play. Michael was born in Cuba so he has a very hard time trying to find his birth certificate.
Michael has a best friend named Manny. I think he is te perfect so called "side-kick" for Michael. He is funny and keeps Michael's spirit up through out the book. Over all I give Heat five stars!
